1 Fabrication / Making Skills

I thick that the skills of making an art efact was for me was just almost
Impossible to do. To do my art efact I did not have the connections to or
The coding to complete my art efact. There wasn’t really any making in my
project but For Fabrication Making Skills 3/10

2 Contextual Awareness

im not clear on Contextual Awareness means

3 Synthesis of etude material in final work

I believe that my etudes were very random in my research I did really have any unparticular or specific things to research about artist and
Installations. The final work was not an essential idea. And I have been very unclear about using coding and programming. I think that the idea was not thought out very well during to the advice got to use this. The idea of using a mobile phone to control google earth should never of been further done. However at time I thought it would be a good idea to continue with. During my research I would give my etudes 5/10

4 Critical Analysis of subject

The Critical Analysis I thought was very well threw out the subject. I believe that a the Critical Analysis did not show out for the idea. More needed to be done with the Critical Analysis.3/10

5 Creativity, originality and innovation

The idea was never thought out to the main idea. But it was definitely an original idea. It just was not the right idea for me to be doing. I felt it looked very simple to just control google earth with a mobile phone but at the same time I wanted to make my art efact simple during to heavy coding. To Creativity and originality I would give myself 4/10

6 Application of theory to practice

Google earth was fairly simple to use. It was simply like using software like Maya. In addition, Google has provided a layer allowing one to see 3D buildings for many major cities in the US and Japan and various other countries. You can type where you live or a place like New York and it will take the user to the location. For Application of theory to practice I will give myself 4/10

7 Technical Development

I attempted to do the coding but I had none of connections that was supposed to help me with the coding so I decided to record my actions and attempt by using real live footage and short animations that I would use to make the idea clear. For Technical Development 3/10

8 Rationality & Realisation

im not clear on this questi

9 Organization & Time-planning

The time planning for my second module not good. I think more research
And a different idea would have been. I did not Organize or Time-plan this
Idea at tall I got a lot of advice which was why I decided to do it. For
Organization & Time-planning I would say 5/10.

10 Presentation & Documentation

I felt like messed up on the presentation. I had a lost for words and felt like I should have never have been there in the first place. I think that my documentation was clear for what I wanted to do. I am not very pleased with the out come of my project. 4/10

3D hybrids essay

Concept development is will about ideas that I might use for my second assinment. From all the artist and designs study 4 was to use the ideas that might have benefited me of new ideas for my second assinment. I showed diregrams, storyboards and designs to show an example of what I might be doing for the second project. I will be using various other as inspirations toward my development for my art artefact. The forth Study were to be based more on the pictures and designs as the examples of concepts.

At first on the on the blog I had one idea where I could use a mobile phone to control and interact with a 3D installation or even a 3d software like google earth in particular. Google Earth is a virtual globe program that was originally called Earth Viewer and was created by Keyhole, Inc. It maps the earth by the superimposition of images obtained from satellite imagery, aerial photography and GIS 3D globe. It is available under three different licenses: Google Earth, a free version with limited functionality; Google Earth Plus, which includes a few more features; and Google Earth Professional, intended for commercial use. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Google_Earth.

This peace of software was formerly known as Earth Viewer. Google Earth was developed by Keyhole, Inc. a company acquired by Google in 2004. The product was renamed Google Earth in 2005 and is currently available for use on personal computers running Microsoft Windows 2000, XP, or Vista; Mac OS X 10.3.9 and above; Linux (released on June 12, 2006); and FreeBSD. In addition to releasing an updated Keyhole based client, Google also added the imagery from the Earth database to their web based mapping software. Google earth is also shown on BBC news, which has mostly been for things like the war in Iraq an Afghanistan to show locations, and of surten events.

Google Earth has the capability to show 3D buildings and structures (such as bridges), which consist of users’ submissions using SketchUp, a 3D modeling program. In prior versions of Goggle Earth (before Version 4), 3D buildings were limited to a few cities, and had poorer rendering with no textures.

Many buildings and structures from around the world now have detailed 3D structures; including (but not limited to): U.S., Canada, Japan, United Kingdom, [1], Germany, Alexandria and Pakistan [2]. Three-dimensional renderings are available for certain buildings and structures around the world via Google’s 3D Warehouse [3] and other websites.

This is an idea where you can get an old or new mobile phone to interact with an 3d installation and use the buttons with out using wires and just the mobile phone as a controller. What in pirated me to do this idea was Nintendo wii controller. The Wii Remote is a one-handed controller that uses a combination of accelerometers and infrared detection (from an array of LEDs inside the Sensor Bar) to sense its position in 3D space. This design allows users to control the game using physical gestures as well as traditional button presses. The controller connects to the console using Bluetooth, and features rumble and an internal speaker. The Wii Remote can connect to other devices through a proprietary port at the base of the controller. The device bundled with the Wii retail package is the Nunchuk unit, which features an accelerometer and a traditional analog stick with two trigger buttons. In addition, an attachable wrist strap can be used to prevent the player from unintentionally dropping or throwing the Wii Remote. In response to incidences of strap failures, Nintendo is offering a free stronger replacement for all straps.

However the Nintendo Wii controller is not wire but it how you interact with it like a TV remote or a mobile phone which is what I decided to take further for the second assinment. Where as on the other hand the PS3 and the Xbox 360 are wireless.

Thing like films also inspirited me to do this idea was Enemy of the State a done made by will smith. The film is about a sate light that’s being controlled in space to catch criminals. I wanted to further with an idea where I can control google earth or made even make up my own art effect of an installation to programme where I can zoon in to earth and see live footage from the top view. Obviously looking earth live action from the top view I would say is quit impossible. But there other ways and ideas you can use to make possible.

Because of the possibility of influencing the past while time traveling, one way of explaining why history does not change is by saying that whatever has happened was meant to happen. A time traveler attempting to alter the past in this model, intentionally or not, would only be fulfilling his role in creating history, as we know it, not changing it.

Déjà Vu is anther film done by Denzel Washington where threw out a machine known a predestination paradox which is also called either a causal loop, or a causality loop and (less frequently) either a closed loop or closed time loop, is a paradox of time travel that is often used as a convention in science fiction. It exists when a time traveler is caught in a loop of events that “predestines” him or her to travel back in time. In the movie the predestination paradox was used to only go back four days before where you look back and fine what was happening then. Once time has pasted you could not go back but you can just record what you are looking for.

I have just opened up google earth for mobile phone interactivity for assignment 2. I am just crying to get use of the layout of the software. In terms in controlling google earth it is like using 3d software.

I can’t seem to find the connection for options to the programming for my mobile.

I have tried to use experiment by using after effects as en example of how my experiment would work for the art effect.

The visual style of my designs was about was mostly about interactivity but how does this the idea go further, researching other artist and installations I feel that it is important that I have to try and keep an open mind to my idea of 3d development interactivity and computer games.

Threw out the past few days I have used examples of using real life footage of my own mock up examples of how would use a mobile phone to control an insulation. Forinstence this is a quick time movie of a peace that I have done this to the understanding of my concept. How ever I was unable to find the coding for the artefact. By using Maya and flash I came up with short animations that shoes how it would have been done. The way I did was to use green or blue screen in flash to animate the mobile phone and the camera tool in Maya to you or the user would control google earth. I hope to believe that the animations that I done should make if clear of what was crying to achieve.

As I was working the on making animation I used various earth images help me with the animation

The artist that influenced me was John Klima. He done project called earth 2001 which is a unique geo-spatial visualization system, culls real-time data from the Internet and accurately positions it onto a three-dimensional model of the Earth. http://www.cityarts.com/earth/

Chôjô is a research project that investigates the possibilities of collaborative, persistent, location-specific experiences that layer 3D virtual worlds over the physical world. This research has led to a Chôjô game in which the USC campus is the playfield. In the game, players use Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs) coupled with Global Positioning Systems (GPS) to “see” on the PDA screen where they are in the 3D virtual world. With their GPS equipped PDAs, players walk through the USC campus, leaving behind a trail of virtual flora, represented as colorful, blossoming 3D shapes. These flora are mapped using the GPS coordinates of the player, to the corresponding space in the “virtual” USC campus. The virtual flora are persistent — over time, they continue to grow and take over space in the virtual world.

I like the idea of using a wakon tablit with a divice you for a game or or research.

As players move around on the actual USC campus, their movements and actions are tracked and represented in the 3D virtual USC campus.

As a game, Chôjô creates a collaborative social experience that allows students to investigate and explore possibilities for creative uses of persistent virtual-physical hybrid worlds. Chôjô the game is the first use of our technology platform that is slated to be used for other research-oriented development projects that study the possible uses for persistent, coupled, virtual-physical environments.
